There was a 6 year break of Disneyland visits. Mom was in school and the time and money were not there. The summer between 7th and 8th grade, we were ready for another trip and we wanted to celebrate mom being done with school! There are several things I remember about this.
-We had so much luggage, our mini van was literally sagging in the back.
-The entire trip Emily was trying to convince us that Brandon was not her boyfriend. She ended up marrying him and making my wonderful nephew with him. “He’s not my boyfriend!”
-We played so much Madlibs, and it got SO outrageous that my dad banned Madlibs from the car, and any future road trip. “You can be the winner of the 3-speed toilet seat!”
-I kept track of how many u-turns we had to make. It was over 100.
-Emily and Gina wanted a tan so bad, that they didn’t wear an ounce of sunscreen when we were at the beach, all day. They ended up covered in severe blisters, 2nd degree burn style. The were so sore, they could not move. They didn’t want to come with my mom, dad, and I to Disneyland the last day. So we used their food budget to eat at The Blue Bayou (Restaurant at the entrance of Pirates of the Caribbean). It was amazing.
Still rockin the fanny pack 🙂
TLDR: Wear sunscreen, or your sister will use your food money.
